  Christina specializes in
Traditional mediums such as watercolor, pen &
ink, colored pencil,gouache,
oils and scratchboard. Digital tools of the trade
include Adobe Photoshop 7.0 with Wacom Tablet.
Following her true passion for creativity, she earned her
BFA in Illustration from the Maine College
of Art in 2005, under the tutelage of Scott
Nash and Kevin Hawkes. Her
focus over the past 5 years
has been Children's book Illustration,
although that is only one area amongst many she wishes
to explore. At present, she is focusing on the completion
of a a 32 page Children's Fairytale
comic book, a self-imposed project.
Drawing from life is integral to her as a foundation upon
which
all other forms of 2D-3D art rest. Bringing artwork of
beauty, wonder, and imagination into the world is her
main goal in being an illustrator- Her versatility with
styles enables her to work with a diverse range of
clientele and projects.( See Clients list
below)
Christina draws
inspiration from different cultures (Japanese,
Scandinavian, European-)
and from treasured artists such as
Jesse Wilcox Smith, Alphonse Mucha, Kay Neilsen ,
Sulamith Wulfing, Carl Larsson,
and Beatrix Potter. Japanese
Illustrators she admires & loves are : Ado Mizumori, Chiho Saito, Yuu Watase, and
most favorite - Hayao Miyazaki.
Christina is also a trained
Soprano vocalist specializing in Lyrical Opera, Gilbert
& Sullivan, and Broadway Styles. In Rhode Island ,
she played a part in several Gilbert and Sullivan shows,
whilst living currently in Maine; performed in The Magic
of Christmas and PORT Opera Productions. For
4 years she serenaded guests at Romano's Macaroni Grill
in South Portland with a variety of songs
& arias. She loves to spend her free time reading
books (Fairy Tales, Thomas Merton, Psychology,
Charlotte & Emily Bronte-) drawing (of course!),
dancing, singing, crafting, cooking, sewing, cakes,
rollerskating or figure skating. Vintage buttons,
miniatures, cute stickers, and recently kokeshi
dolls are her favorite collectables. She is interested in
the Taize ministry which was introduced
to her by wonderful friends, and the pursuit of forming a
trio of female singers who would perform
songs in the style of the Andrews Sisters -1930's-40's
styles- incorporating art into the performance as well.
Her friends of an eclectic/diverse range are a consistent
source of inspiration and encouragement, to whom
she gives much thanks and love. (To God & parents as
well.Thank you!)
